Meet Alan

— Therapist for People-Pleasers and Deep Feelers

about me

Hi, I'm Alan.

If you’ve ever felt like your worth comes from being helpful, agreeable, or “easy to be around,” you’re not alone. Maybe you pride yourself on being dependable — the one others can count on. But underneath that, you might also feel overlooked, burnt out, or unsure who you are outside of other people’s expectations.

That was my story, too.

When I lost my mom at 13, I didn’t realize how much it shaped the way I showed up for others. I told myself I was fine — that I could handle it, that I had to keep going. I became really good at putting others first, always being the strong one. For a while, it looked like I was doing okay… but looking back, I was just getting by. I didn’t understand the toll it was taking until years later, when I started my own work and realized how much I had been carrying.

People-pleasing doesn’t always look like a problem. In fact, it can feel like a strength — like what makes you likable, dependable, and safe. But if you’re always putting others’ needs ahead of your own, ignoring your boundaries, or struggling to voice what you actually want, it can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself.

These insights are what drive my work today.

Professionally, I’ve supported clients in a wide range of settings — from intensive programs to hospital care — giving me a deep understanding of what people go through at different stages of healing. I also led trainings for other therapists on how to practice with a trauma-informed lens. My approach blends compassion with practical tools, and I strive to create a space where you can be real, explore what’s underneath the people -pleasing, and start building something different.

At Mind Reframed, I bring a grounded, compassionate approach that blends CBT with trauma-informed practices. I especially enjoy working with people who’ve always been “the strong one,” “the peacemaker,” or “the fixer” — and are now ready to turn some of that care inward.

If any part of this speaks to you — I’d be honored to walk alongside you in your journey of healing.

Therapy doesn’t have to be about fixing you. It can be about finding you.
